Hi, welcome to my weblog on phpRPG.com!

I am a web developer with particular interest in writing and developing games playable through a web browser - without the need of any additional download, plugin or installation (… and that includes Flash :-P). My toolset languages include PHP and JavaScript.

In 2001, I founded an open source web-based game project known as phpRPG. Even though work and personal commitments have stopped me from working on the project, I have been continuously been working on other private game projects as my hobby.

For web development, my favourite environment and tools include:

• XAMPP - Apache web server environment with built-in PHP and MySQL support for local development
• Aptana Studio - integrated development environment (IDE) designed for web developers
• Firebug extension for Mozilla Firefox - excellent JavaScript debugging tool
• FileZilla Client - great open source FTP client

For graphics and image editing, I use:

• GIMP - the GNU Image Manipulation Program (open source)
• GraphicsGale - for pixel art and animation creation
